We met Carole and Pascal in a cozy lounge, over espresso. They tell us the story of how each of them discovered the city of Essaouira, before returning together, drawn to the scenery and tranquility they found irresistible.
Drop everything and start a family in Morocco
Riad Orange Cannelle is the result of a new beginning for Carole and Pascal, who were searching for a change in their lives. After going between France and Morocco for a long time and with the birth of their child, they decided to sell everything, including their hotel Avignon and follow their hearts to Essaouira. After looking a round for a new place, they came across a small guest house in desperate need of work; it was the perfect project for them.
For this Riad, the first among other projects in the region for them, they observed the excellence of Moroccan craftsmanship, putting their creative dreams into action.
Over the next ten months of work, they built strong relationships with those who would eventually become their team. Among them was Anwar, a calligrapher in Essaouira, who created the logo and calligraphic variations in each room, an artistic imprint found throughout the house. It is the same throughout the Riad, where Orange Cannelle blends original creations, Moroccan traditions and design to reflect light and colours.
