Essaouira Mogador Association presents the 10th edition of 'Les Andalousies atlantiques' festival to be held from the 31st October to 3rd November 2013. Led by Francois Atlan, an incomparable artist and artistic director of the event, this edition will bring together poets, singers and musicians, both Muslim and Jewish, perpetuating 'one voice'
On the agenda of the 10th edition are some great names in the industry, such as Abderrahim Souiri, Mohamed Biouel and Mohamed Amine El Akrami. During these three days, the greatest masters of the genre rub shoulders with rising stars from all over Morocco.
For this edition, the concerts will take place in Dar Souiri and on the big stage. As usual, the performances are free, opening the art and cultural heritage of Morocco.
Estrella Morente, an emblematic flamenco singer will be present, as will Icon Pedro Almodovar of the movie Volver, and daughter of the great Andalusian singer Enrique Morente will offer her first show with Jalal Chekara on the opening night.
Memories and stories
Alongside the concerts, Dar Souiri doors will be open after midnight to accommodate musical schools in Essaouira and various brotherhoods of the city. There will also be forums on Friday and Saturday morning, talking about how legacies persist and structure our societies and many more topics.
